Management of Chemotherapy Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV)

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the different types of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (acute, delayed, breakthrough, refractory).
  2. List the risk factors for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV).
  3. Design antiemetic regimens based on the emetic risk of chemotherapy.
  4. List the pharmacologic agents used for the prevention of CINV.
  5. Describe the management of breakthrough CINV.
  6. Discuss non-pharmacologic management of CINV
