An Intro to ASL for Pharmacy Professionals

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Explain the different categories of hearing loss: deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind
  2. Identify communication barriers present in the pharmacy setting
  3. Demonstrate basic ASL signs
  4. Challenge pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to step outside the norm and intentionally engage with a unique community- the deaf and heard of hearing community.
