Compounding is an incredibly special niche within a massive healthcare industry, but I would argue it is one of the most important. During times of commercial uncertainty, hospitals and physicians have somewhere to turn; down to the individual patient who has failed commercially produced options and requires a creative approach. This underscores why we compounders keep pushing.

I’m being recognized as a leading technician in the compounding space for many reasons. Through every season of my life and career, working for dozens of compounding pharmacies all over the country, I have fully dedicated my energy to helping people understand the importance of compounding and sharing my passion for it. I’ve taught continuing education courses on patient safety and quality, training fellow technicians and pharmacists on best practices in compounding, and I’ve been published on USP <795> compounding during a time the industry needed clarity.

Beyond formal education, I’ve spent years volunteering for trade associations like APC and GPhA, continuing to show my dedication by sharing my passion with the general public, my family, friends, and the medical professionals I’ve met to help them understand why compounding exists and why protecting patient access to it matters so much. Compounding gives patients options when nothing else works, and I’ve made it my mission to ensure we protect its existence for generations to come.
